Why BridgeFest?
BridgeFest was conceived by Hyde Park Mains Streets to develop market awareness and economic stimulus to the businesses in the one block area surrounding the closed River St Bridge in Cleary Sq Hyde Park. This cultural event would leverage the diversity of the Hyde Park neighborhood and create a fun family friendly entertainment event with a different culture featured each weekend.
It continues a series of great summertime Hyde Park events following its Juneteenth and Celebrate Hyde Park festivities over the last month.Live music acts would be featured on the Friday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM with a different live DJ from Spark FM each of the 4 Fridays during the event.
Roots Alley Collective – July 14, 2023: Known for their soulful blend of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, Roots Alley Collective will kick off BridgeFest 2023 with an electrifying performance. Get ready to sway to their infectious rhythms and experience the spirit of Jamaica right in the heart of Hyde Park.
Saturdays during the 4 weekends would feature a pop up market from 3 PM to 7 PM, consisting of 11 or 12 vendors giving multiple independent vendors economic opportunity as well while attracting outside interest for the community and its BridgeFest businesses.
